Josh and I love the outdoors, and love getting into the mountains. Unfortunately, we are both sporting injuries that mean we can’t go mountaineering over the winter. We were told we would have to take it easy, so we decided to enter the Mongol Rally, the closest thing we could find to an armchair adventure.
Also, because life is short, and should be filled with adventure and shenanigans. As the below record indicates, this ethos is part of our usual modus operandi.

Many people new to tramping forget essential items – not us though
Knowing how to use equipment properly is an essential part of getting into the outdoors
Safety first

Conflict resolution is a key part of team success in outdoor environments
Many people would think that a golf club and a pirate flag are not items needed up a mountain; they would be wrong
Fortunately, Luke will have the use of his hands back by the time the rally starts
Proper vehicle consideration is something to be taken seriously
Armchairs are essential mountaineering gear. We don’t walk all of that way to sit on the snow
we understand it is important to dress for success
We will be trading snow for sand, during the Mongol Rally
It’s not go go go all of the time, sometimes we just like to hang about
